This page describes the information PlayPrices collects when you use playprices.com.
Last updated 17 September 2026.
PlayPrices is the PC game price-comparison site at playprices.com. This policy applies to that website. If you have a privacy question, email support@playprices.com.
Outbound clicks. When you follow a Buy or store link, the request goes through our /go redirect. We record the store, the game if it was in the link, and the time. We do not store your IP address or name on that row. The record is used to understand which stores people open and for affiliate reporting.
Optional Steam account. You can sign in with Steam. Steam confirms your identity. We store your Steam ID, hashed session tokens, short-lived hashed login challenges, and the game IDs you save to the account. We do not receive your Steam password, email, inventory or wishlist. Sessions last up to 30 days. You can sign out or delete the PlayPrices account from your account page. Deleting it removes the PlayPrices account, its saved games and its sessions. Your Steam account is unaffected.
Guest saved games. If you save games without signing in, this browser stores game IDs and titles in local storage. That list stays on the device until you remove games or clear site data. Signed-in lists are not copied into local storage.
Search. Header search asks live lookup stores (Steam, GOG, Epic, Microsoft Store) for matching titles. We do not keep a personal search history.
If you sign in, we set HttpOnly, SameSite=Lax session cookies on this host (and a short-lived login-challenge cookie during Steam OpenID). Those cookies are necessary for the account to work. They are not advertising cookies.
Guest saved games use the browser's local storage, not a cookie. The quote-currency picker (EUR, USD or GBP) sets a SameSite=Lax preference cookie named playprices_quote so the choice stays on later pages. That cookie is not used for advertising.
The consent cookie playprices_consent remembers whether you accepted optional analytics. It is a necessary preference cookie, not an advertising cookie. Details and the change control are on the Cookie policy.
The site loads Vercel Web Analytics and Vercel Speed Insights only after you accept optional analytics. Those scripts measure page views and Core Web Vitals so we can see whether the site is used and how fast it feels. Until you accept, they are not loaded. Reject non-essential and saved preferences that leave Analytics off keep them off. Vercel documents them as first-party measurement on the same host, without advertising cookies or a separate analytics vendor. See Vercel's Web Analytics privacy and Speed Insights privacy. There is no advertising or session-replay product. Our hosting provider may also process ordinary request logs (for example IP address, user agent and URL) to operate and secure the site. Public API routes may briefly use your IP address in memory to rate-limit bursts; that counter is not written to our database.
Some store links may earn PlayPrices a commission when you buy, at no extra cost to you. Ranking is by listed price regardless of commission. See how our links work.
Clicking through to a store sends you to that merchant (and, when an affiliate program is configured, possibly its affiliate network). Those parties have their own privacy policies. Signing in sends you to Steam. The site is hosted on Vercel; catalogue and account data are stored in a Postgres database (Supabase).
You can use the catalogue without an account. You can refuse guest saves by not using Save, or by clearing this site's data in your browser. You can delete a PlayPrices account on the account page. Outbound click rows are operational records and are not a profile of you.
For a privacy request about data we hold, email support@playprices.com. That is the published user inbox. We do not list a phone number or postal address.
